BTA written insurance premiums in LATVIA grew by 10% in H1

BTA Insurance Company SE (BTA) written insurance premiums totaled LVL 59.3 million in the first half of 2013, 10% or LVL 5.3 million more than in the respective period in 2012, informs LETA.

The company paid LVL 27.1 million in gross insurance claims in the first six months of 2013, 11% or LVL 2.6 million more than in the same period in 2012.

BTA earned LVL 1.2 million in profit in the first half of 2012, as the company informed the business information portal Nozare.lv.

The steepest increases in written insurance premiums were achieved in property and accident insurance. BTA written property insurance premiums amounted to LVL 10.2 million in the first half of 2013, 24% more than in the first half of 2012, accident insurance premiums - LVL 1.2 million - a 20% increase.
