ERGO cooperates with telecom providers to move forward into the digital era
In Estonia ERGO has launched in cooperation with telecom service provider TELIA a joint motor insurance service allowing to buy insurance coverage (MTPL and voluntary motor insurance) only for the period of time that a vehicle is used, LETA/BNS reports, the insurance price depending directly on the number of days of use. According to a company representative, the offering is ideally suited for the owners of motorcycles and hobby vehicles and families having several vehicles. The products are available for the TELIA clients, all payments being made via the mobile bill.
If a vehicle is used for 15 days or more during a month the regular insurance premium must be paid. For the period that a vehicle is not used the insurance can be stopped. A voluntary vehicle insurance contract remains valid as far as a natural disaster, vandalism and fire are concerned also during the period when the agreement is on hold, Konsap added.
In Germany, ERGO Group and Deutsche Telekom will join forces to offer digital services for private and corporate customers in future. The agreement concluded by the end of August covers the areas of the smart home and cyber security; additional activities are being planned.
"Our customers are already intensive users of networked products. Digitalisation enables us to develop innovative insurance benefits for these customers. Our plan is to work with Telekom on the seamless combination of advice, insurance coverage and repair services with the objective of making life easier for our customers and restricting claims by digital means", stated Mark KLEIN, Chief Digital Officer of the ERGO Group.
