Insurance markets of the Western Balkans in the limelight November 15 at ICIR in Frankfurt

11 October 2018 — Daniela GHETU
There is just one month to go until the event hosted by The International Center for Insurance Regulation (ICIR), dedicated to the latest market and regulatory developments for the insurance markets of the Western Balkans.

klime_poposki4We asked Dr. Klime POPOSKI, President of the Council of Expert of the Insurance Supervision Agency, R. Macedonia, the event's lecturer, to provide us with the main details:

"The ICIR "Talks on Insurance and Regulation" event series of the International Center for Insurance Regulation (ICIR) at Goethe University in Frankfurt is a public event forum with the aim of bringing together academics, representatives from major (re)insurance companies, and policy makers to debate on current and future key topics in insurance and insurance regulation," explained POPOSKI.

"My speech, titled "The Insurance Market and Regulatory Developments in the Western Balkan Countries - Challenges and Perspectives" will provide an overview of insurance market challenges and the perspectives for six Western Balkan countries (Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina) by identifying the key driving factors from the insurance supply and demand side. A special focus will be given to regulatory and supervisory aspects. Possible solutions for a sustainable insurance market development in order to narrow the protection gap will be on special focus. The need of a multi-stakeholder engagement to create an environment in which insurers can operate effectively and efficiently will be another important aspect of the presentation," he added.

The event will take place on November 15, 2018, 18.00 o'clock at the House of Finance in Frankfurt, Germany.
