STATISTICS: CZECH REPUBLIC, FY2019: storms and hails almost doubled the number of property claims settled by local insurers

According to FY2019 preliminary data reported by Czech Insurance Association - CAP, the local insurance market increased by 5.68% y-o-y to CZK 136.72 billion (~EUR 5.38 billion). The 27 insurers members of CAP represent roughly 98% of total GWP generated by local market.

ROMANIA: ASF has withdraw the operating authorisation of CERTASIG

The Board of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) has decided, during the meeting on 19.02.2020, to withdraw the operating authorisation of the company CERTASIG Societate de Asigurare si Reasigurare S.A (CERTASIG), due to the fact that the company did not restored the level of eligible own funds covering the minimum capital requirement (MCR) within the term provided by law, wrote Romanian insurance portal 1asig.ro.

RUSSIA: market share of TOP-5 life insurers in 2019 exceeded 70% in the life portfolio

Klaus-Peter ROHLER (55), currently Chairman of the Board of Management of ALLIANZ Deutschland AG and ALLIANZ Versicherungs-AG, has been appointed by the Supervisory Board as his successor effective April 1, 2020.
