PIU, Gjensidige Insurance and Swedbank nominated for the European Excellence Awards 2018

Among the nominees of the 2018 European Excellence Awards, the leading Award for European PR and communications, there are three entries belonging to the insurance world: the Polish Insurance Association, Swedbank and Gjensidige Insurance.

The Polish Insurance Association was nominated for the European Excellence Awards 2018 in the Issues & Reputation Management category.

The PIU nomination was granted for a change in the method of communication on insurance in Poland, mainly through the report "How insurance changes Poland and Poles" and launching communication in social media (Agency: Havas PR Warsaw). "The insurance industry is a "40/50-year-old qualified and caring, but tired nurse" according to completed reputation studies commissioned by PIU. PIU has decided to change this and, after analysis, has introduced a new quality of communication, disrupting previous patterns. Family security, stable economy, income security or new fire-fighting vehicles - all this #thankstoinsurance," the European Excellence Awards website reveals as a motivation of the PIU's nomination.

Gjensidige Insurance was nominated in the Content marketing and the Health sections, for the Birthual Reality film realized together with the FLB Europa Agency. "The film the world's first birth-preparatory film in VR. Gjensidige successfully created a unique tool that helps parents prepare for childbirth in a new way. After the campaign awareness among parents has reached 31% and the sales of Gjensidige's child insurance increased by 25%. The film is today shown for educational purposes in a number of hospitals," is the nomination's motivation.

Finally, Swedbank was nominated in the Baltic countries section for its "Insure the Song" campaign in Latvia (Agency: Deep White SIA, VUCA communications, Wrong Digital). To claim its space among competitors on the Latvian market and become top-of-mind life insurer, Swedbank joined The Song and Dance Celebration. Swedbank Latvia insured the most iconic Latvian tradition and made sure anyone can join the celebration of a song, so the tradition stays alive for many more centuries.

The European Excellence Awards honor outstanding performances in the field of PR and communications since 2007. With in-depth categories which cover everything from internal communications to public relations, the Awards provide a comprehensive look at the most exceptional examples of communication in Europe. Nominations and awards are granted by an international jury gathering well reputed professionals in PR and communication from the most relevant entities in the field.
