STATISTICS: CROATIA, 1Q2019:  6% y-o-y rise in GWP, driven by the non-life segment
The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totaled HRK 2.93 billion (EUR 396 million) in the first three months of 2019, up by 5.97% on the year, the Croatian Insurance Bureau informed.

Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 10.78% to HRK 2.10 billion in the analyzed period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of HRK 835.5 billion, 4.47% below the prior-year level, the Insurance Bureau said in its quarterly report.

In terms of GWP, the largest insurer in the country was CROATIA Osiguranje (30.1% market share) followed by ALLIANZ Zagreb (15.3%) and EUROHERC Osiguranje (9.5%).

The published statistics showed during the year there were 18 active insurers in Croatia vs. 20 a year before.
