STATISTICS: MONTENEGRO, 3Q2017: Life and damages to property insurance lines, the most dynamic

According to data provided by the Insurance Supervision Agency of Montenegro, local insurers have ended 3Q2017 with GWP of EUR 61.2 million, 3.2% up y-o-y.

With an above average growth rate, life insurance slightly increased its market portfolio share to 16%, and reported GWP of nearly EUR 10 million.

Non-life segment's best performer was the property insurance segment, which saw a consolidated y-o-y growth rate of 8.6% in GWP. This results was entirely achieved thanks to the "damages to property" line, which recorded a double digit increase in GWP, to EUR 5.22 million.

Grawe osiguranje leads the life insurance market (34% GWP share), while on the non-life side the market leader is Lovcen osiguranje (44%), part of the Slovene TRIGLAV group.

STATISTICS: Montenegrin market up by 3.5% at the end of the third quarter

In 3Q2016, the Montenegrin insurance market totaled almost EUR 60 million, a 3.5% increase y-o-y, as the Insurance Supervision Agency has reported. Compared with September 2015, non-life insurance premium was up by 3.3% (to EUR 50.1 million), while the life insurance GWP grew by 4.2% (to EUR 9.2 million).
