STATISTICS: SLOVENIA, 3Q: 1.2% aggregate growth-rate due to the 5% expansion of the life segment

Insurance premiums in Slovenia totaled EUR 1.51 billion in 3Q2015, 1.21% more compared with the January-September 2014 period, according to the figures published on SIA's (Slovenian Insurance Association) website. On the claims side, the aggregate value increased by 2.63% to EUR 986.36 million, of which EUR 295.86 million were life indemnities and EUR 690.51 million - paid claims related to non-life sub-classes.

In terms of premiums, life insurance GWP rose by 5.09% to EUR 418.18 million, representing more than a quarter of the total market (27.56%), while the non-life GWP decreased by 0.20% to 1.09 billion. The non-life GWP portfolio consisted mainly of the following sub-classes: health insurance (GWP of EUR 361.63 million), property (EUR 190.21 million), MTPL (EUR 175.94 million) and motor hull (EUR 175.79 million).

In terms of market share, the Top 3 insurance companies - TRIGLAV, ADRIATIC SLOVENICA and VZAJEMNA - controls about 58.88% of the local market. Top 5 was completed by MARIBOR and TRIGLAV Health Insurance and generated 77.35% of total GWP.
