GWP of Ukrainian insurers in 2018 increased by 13.67% y-o-y, to UAH 49.36 billion (EUR 1.56 billion), as data published by the regulator show. The market growth in Euro was over 20% due to a more favorable exchange rate of the national currency at the end of 2018.
On April 12, 2019 S&P Global Ratings affirmed a 'B-/B' long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings for Ukraine, the outlook remains stable, stated the agency's report.
In 2019, between January and February, the total MTPL GWP of insurance companies, members of MTIBU (Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine), increased by 18.12% y-o-y, reaching UAH 661.44 million (~EUR 21.57 million), Forinsurer reports.

The French insurer AXA Group announced it has successfully completed the deal with FAIRFAX Financial Holdings Limited (Canada) to sell its Ukrainian units - the non-life entity (AXA Insurance) and life entity (AXA Insurance Life) - both based in Kyiv, as the Paris-based insurer has said in a statement.

According to the National financial services committee of Ukraine, in order to remove unreliable players from the financial market, 126 organizations, including 13 insurance companies, were removed during January-September, as the member of the Committee, Aleksander ZALETOV informed.
