The health insurance system of Armenia will be launched from mid-2024, AMD 18 billion (~EUR 41.86 million) will be allocated for these purposes, according to the Minister of Health Anahit Avinesyan, ArmInfo wrote.

It was previously reported that the system will be fully operational in 2027. It is planned that in 2024 most beneficiaries will become its participants, in 2025 pensioners will join, and in 2026 - private participants of the voluntary health insurance.

The Armenian government will also take part in the process of accumulating funds together with citizens. For these purposes, a Fund will be created that will manage the funds of the beneficiaries. A Council will be created under the Fund, headed by the Minister of Health.
