In the first three months of 2019, the Slovak insurance market totaled EUR 610.7 million, 3.6% more y-o-y, according to the quarterly financial figures published by the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS).

At the same time, the profits of local insurers amounted to EUR 31.82 million at the end of March 2019, which was a 18.9% less compared to end-March 2018 (EUR 39.23 million).

In GWP terms, the life insurance segment was up by 2.2% y-o-y to EUR 246.7 million, these types of policies generated 40.4% of the total insurance market, while the non-life classes accounted for EUR 364 million (or 59.6% of total GWP), or 4.5% more y-o-y.
